TechNet, in partnership with the TechAlliance and the University of Washington, invite you to participate in the 2004 Technology Innovation Forum, exploring the prognosis for technology innovation over the next decade and the key government, industry and academic initiatives that will make this vision a reality.

Innovations in the technology sector will continue to drive growth and prosperity in the Northwest over the next decade and informed policymaking will be critical in enabling the innovation economy to reach its fullest potential. The 2004 Technology Innovation Forum will highlight emerging trends in the e-tailing, software, wireless and biotech industries that are the vanguard of the Pacific Northwest's technology-driven economy, and will result in specific policy proposals to drive the next wave of growth in the regional and national economies.

Jim Allchin, Group Vice President and member of Microsoft's Senior Leadership Team will deliver a keynote address exploring a forward-looking vision of the technology industry's innovation potential. Academic, policy and industry visionaries including Senator Maria Cantwell, Congressman Jay Inslee, Congressman Adam Smith, and Dr. Mark Emmert, President of the University of Washington will explore next generation trends and technologies in the e-tailing, wireless and biotechnology industries. Participants will participate in breakout groups that produce a substantive, meaningful agenda of the key policy and industry initiatives that will drive the next wave of growth in the Northwest and national tech economies.

At the conclusion of the conference, two documents will be released: an Economic Impact Study, documenting the technology sector's historical contribution to job growth and the regional economy; and Working Policy Recommendations, a series of specific policy recommendations to build on past successes and maximize the region's potential to lead in the new generation of innovation-based industries.

Please join us for this dynamic and insightful exploration of emerging technologies and the public policies and industry initiatives that will most effectively foster innovation and competitiveness.
