ONLINE CORPORATE SECURITY INFORMATION EVALUATION PRIVACY AND SECURITY TERMS OF USE
Technet has created these privacy and security terms of use and notice (the "Notice") to explain the privacy and security protections with respect to your completion of our Online Corporate Security Information Evaluation (the "Evaluation").
EVALUATION INFORMATION SECURITY
Technet places a high priority on protecting the information we collect from the Evaluation. When we collect information for the Evaluation we use an encryption technology called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to protect the transmission of such information.All information collected from the Evaluation is stored on a server managed by Grassroots Enterprise, Inc., a third party vendor that we have hired to provide development, hosting, communications services and database storage. Grassroots Enterprise, Inc. has taken specific measures to enhance the security of the server as well as the security of the physical environment in which it resides. Access to the server and Evaluation information is limited to employees that need such information to perform their job functions.
COLLECTION AND USE OF EVALUATION INFORMATION
No personal or other information specifically identifying you or your company is requested or required for you to complete the Evaluation. On our Join the Effort/Registration section of this cyber security website, you may provide Technet with an email address and other information in order to register to receive updates, to register to pledge your company’s participation in the cyber security initiative, or to send information about the initiative to a friend ("tell-a-friend"). Should you provide an email address or other information in this Join the Effort/Registration section, it will only be used for the purpose stated, and it will not be linked to your Evaluation data. Please note that you are not required to provide an email address or any other identifying information in order to complete the Evaluation.Information we collect through the Evaluation is only used for purposes related to Technet's Cyber Security Initiative. The contents of the evaluation you submit will only be used in the aggregate when combined with other evaluations.
Technet does not use persistent cookies for the Evaluation. We do use session-based cookies that maintain a user's session for continuity of navigation while completing the Evaluation. These session cookies simply terminate after you finish your session and close your browser. We also retain log files and IP addresses related to your online session that are kept for statistical and security purposes only.
DISCLOSURE OF EVALUATION INFORMATION
We will not rent, sell, or share any information that identifies you or your company, or that links the information you have provided on the Evaluation to you.Third Party Vendors. Grassroots Enterprise, Inc., is a third party vendor we have hired to host and manage the secure server on which the Evaluation is stored. Grassroots Enterprise is required to keep the information confidential and not use it for any other purposes. We require them to provide us notice of any third party request for information regarding the Evaluation before disclosing any information so that we may take the necessary steps to prevent disclosure, including, if we deem appropriate, obtaining a court order or injunction to prevent release. Please note that we reserve the right to replace Grassroots Enterprise, Inc. with another third party vendor and transfer the Evaluation information to such third party vendor under the same conditions and restrictions described in this Notice.
Publication of Evaluation Results. Technet reserves the right to publish aggregate and anonymous information compiled from the results of the Evaluations including: a) number of participants; b) number of participants by industry type; c) number of participants by company size; d) average score by industry and company size; and e) number of participants scoring "poor," "fair," or "good in total and by industry and company size.
TechNet will not disclose or include any information in the publication of Evaluation results that specifically identifies any companies that participate in the Evaluation.
